No 1 - Joseph Gillott School Pen - Dip Pen Nib

£1.50 £3.00

Old but unused example from a vintage box of nibs. Joseph Gillott was key to the development of the pen nib industry in Birmingham. He, along with John and William Mitchell worked on mechanised production methods that saw Birmingham as the world centre for pen nibs from the 1820 onwards. Gillott's Victoria Works factory in Graham Street was one of a number of large pen nib factories in this part of the Jewellery Quarter.

The pen nib comes in a zip lock bag with a descriptive sheet. A great little momento of a visit to the Jewellery Quarter on Positively Birmingham Walking Tour No. 3.

Price includes 2nd class postage to the UK.
