13:30 - 15:30 Sat 26th March 2022 Tour 1 - Canals and Victorians to today’s city
Canals and Victorians to today’s city
Child ticket (6-16 years): £7-00 paid at tour start
Whether you have lived in Birmingham all your life, are studying at one of our five universities, or just visiting for a day - you will have a great time on tour with us. Guides are local people with a wealth of knowledge who deliver informative and fun tours of the city.
We look at early development right up to the present day. From industrial growth in Georgian times, the coming of the canals, on to Victorian times where the town developed as a world producer of metal goods, but also coped with issues of huge success. Moving into the 20th Century the brutalist concrete architecture and today the way the city is moving forward and trying to cope with transport and pollution.
Keeping Coronavirus safe: We take Covid-19 security extremely seriously. Live audio units enable social distancing-plus and you can still hear the guide clearly. We have the Visit England 'We're good to go' industry mark to show we comply with Covid-19 secure operations.
Earphones: Please try and bring your own (old style 3.5mm jack) or we provide a new pair which you keep at the end (£1 donation to our charity apperciated).
