Here are two popular tours we could base you private tour itinerary on:
Tour 1: Canals and Victorians to today's city: We look at early development right up to the present day. From industrial growth in Georgian times, the coming of the canals, then on to Victorian times where the town developed as a world producer of metal goods but also had to cope with issues of huge success. Moving into the 20th Century the Brutalist concrete architecture and today the way the city is moving forward. The Black Lives Matter campaign has had a focus in Birmingham - a truly multi-cultural city. We include an honest discussion on the major roles of Birmingham in the slave trade - things that many do not fully appreciate and which now deserve our consideration.
Tour 3: Discovering Birmingham: Take the 'secret canal' to the Jewellery Quarter and understand industries from artisan jewellers right up to giants of electroplating and pen nib manufacturing. See where the city is heading into the future. Appreciate Birmingham's the extent of the town's role in and reliance on 17th and 18th century slave trade. Includes major city Squares and a great introduction to the city and Jewellery Quarter and will be of interest equally to local people and visitors.
