Discovering Birmingham – A Walking Tour with a Twist
A great introduction to the modern city. Guides are local people with a wealth of knowledge, delivering informative and fun tours of the city.
The detail:
Join us for a lively, fast-paced stroll through Birmingham’s past, present and future. Hear how the city sprang up above the River Rea, and how its early metalworking skills helped spark the Industrial Revolution.
We’ll chat about how Joseph Chamberlain tackled the chaos of Victorian Birmingham, and see how the old Georgian canals—once the city’s industrial motorways—are now all about cafes, culture and canalside selfies. Speaking of which, we’ll stop at the filming location for The Immortal Man, the latest Peaky Blinders production.
Along the way we’ll also ask: are we getting today’s city right? With new Build to Rent towers rising fast, are we building a legacy—or a headache—for future Brummies?
To round things off, every household gets a free copy of our guide Jonathan Berg's new book Discovering Birmingham— as a thank you for joining the adventure.
